UPDATES

  It's been a while since I paid any attention to this site. I think I might have a good thing going here, though. The new design is pretty fresh, I like the colors and everything, and there's a bunch of content. Hopefully soon there'll be a lot more new stuff. That's the only problem with being a writer; it's a bit difficult to show off your recent progress, especially if you're working on something more than a few thousand words.

  Anyway, keep tuned in, and I'm sure I'll have a bunch of updates coming around soon.

THE STONE

  The Stone is my current project. I'm actually having trouble writing this book. It's gone through many, many changes over the last few years, moving from genre to genre while I try to find the proper way to tell the story. Lately, I've left the fantasy elements behind, and for fairly simple reasons. It just doesn't feel very important; there are so many good stories to tell that deal with the real world, the here-and-now. A few things haven't changed though, elements essential to the story. It's always been a tale about a young man trying to find his place in the world while he tries to live too quickly for his own good. He feels extreme pressure to be a success early in life so that he can live the way he wants and be able to provide for those around him. Fortunately, while there are people around him who could bring him crashing to the ground, he also has a solid core of family, both his own and that of his long-time girlfriend, and a small group of close friends who always have been, and probably always will be, there to help him.

  I was born in the center of Maine over twenty one years ago, and have lived in plenty of other places since then, including Vermont, Pennsylvania, and New Hampshire. Currently, I'm back living in the north of Vermont, whiling away my time by reading, writing, and working a job I'd rather leave behind.

  My big plan for the next few years is FIND A WAY OUT! While I could just get up and go, I'd rather do it comfortably, and in the company of someone nice. 'Cause who wants to spend their life with a guy who's gonna be wearing the same tattered clothes for the rest of his days?

  Writing is going to be my bus ticket out of here. Although I didn't seem to notice, I've been writing ever since I was in kindergarten. And I've got the books to prove it. I wrote a horrible movie in middle school, I've started plenty of novels, and written some short stories. But, for the past two years, I've really concentrated on what makes a piece of writing good, makes it strong, and, most especially, sell well. I think I'm closer than ever to breaking through and actually getting something printed. Oh yeah, and I draw stuff too, sometimes.
